THESE LAST COUPLE MONTHS have been so intrusive on my writing and blogging “obligations"!” I feel like time has accelerated times ten. I finished my core classes at school in March and entered into my clinical rotation in April. Wow, I tell ya, I don’t know how people hold down a full-time job AND raise kids AND try to have a life (AND, in my case, try to write). I haven’t sat down and worked on any of my projects for probably six weeks now, and I’m pretty dispirited about it. But at least I’m working toward a goal, and I have hopes that once I get all my contact hours in I’ll find a groove that doesn’t completely empty my creative coffers by the time 7 pm rolls around (like now).
One thing my family and I have going on is my son’s Trike-A-Thon.
Here’s a snippet from his site page:
I am participating in a program to raise money to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital find new treatments for cancer, sickle cell and other diseases. You too can help St. Jude continue its life-saving work against pediatric diseases with your donation.
If you’d care to donate (no amount is too small, even five bucks is commendable), you can go to his SECURE page and become a sponsor of this event, which takes place on June 25th, 2010. My little SuperKid will ride his little tricycle until the wheels come off.
In the meantime, I do have a few ideas on the burner and I’m also starting to look at my ongoing projects, but at the same time I’m staring down the barrel at several more weeks of clinical rotation.
I’ll try not to let months go by between updates, though! Even if it’s just something cool, like this:
